God is Amazing :)

Wednesday night Bible studies keep me sane during the hectic and crazy school week.

Tonight the Truth Project Lesson 5 focused on God's Creation. And it's reassuring to know that I was created by an amazing God who knew me and my life's purpose even before I was born and that I'm not just a product of randomness or a product of something that came from nothing.

It's awesome that God is able to reveal Himself through His creation.

There was an example from church today about Mt. Rushmore (the mountain with some Presidents' faces) and how no one will ever look at that mountain and think 'wow look at what the rain and erosion created...' it's obviously plain to see and know that it has been created by someone through it's design and complexity. Same goes for our universe and everything in it... it didn't just come from nothing. It was created by God :)

P.S. Today is Leo and I's 2 1/2 years anniversary and I'm so blessed and thankful to have him in my life <3

"What is TRUTH?"

I just got back from my weekly bible study at the Rock.. and we began The Truth Project series tonight which was definitely awakening and very informational.. the website is http://www.thetruthproject.com

Tonight we watched the first of 13 series. And it began with the basic and important question of "What is TRUTH?" I will try to summarize my notes as best as I can. :)

Jesus says in the book of John that He came to this fallen world to testify the Truth.. Today, the word testify is usually associated with a trial in court. And the real trial that Jesus was testifying to and continues to testify to til this day is.. Truth vs. Lie

The truth is God's perception of reality.. our culture is filled with lies and we trade in the truth of God to please the creature (humans or things) rather than pleasing the Creator (God)

Our actions act upon what we believe is really real and therefore if we truly believe the Word of God.. our actions and the way we live our life should depict that.

The truth is who God is. We must first understand who God is so we can have some reference as to what is true and what isn't. We must seek God because He is the ultimate source of truth. How? the Word.

Doing what we believe is true takes FAITH... therefore What is Faith?

In the Bible, God says we must have child-like faith...
We were shown a clip of a child on a diving board... You can tell he was nervous and scared of jumping off because he wasn't sure of the outcome... But he sees his mom in the pool ready to catch him. And so his faith in his mom catching him overcame his doubt of jumping off. Everything was telling him not to jump but seeing his mom and having faith that she will catch him outweighed his doubt. We should have the same kind of faith in God. Even when things don't seem right and during times when we feel we are alone... we must have faith in Him cause He will get us through. Faith overcomes feelings.

To end the first part of the series... we were left with this question "DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE IS REALLY REAL?" and for believers... if we believe that what is said in the Bible is really real then our actions would be able to turn the world upside down.

Reminder

No one has the ability to satisfy all our needs but God. Putting your dependency on anyone else but God will just lead you to disappointment sooner or later, it's been proven to me many times.

Looking Back...

I was supposed to be in Colorado with Maranatha's College and Career group this weekend with Leo and my best friends until Tuesday but an important opportunity came up and I needed to stay behind. I definitely need to learn to be more acceptable to change. A challenge for me is accepting change, especially when the "change" means I need to give up something I "want." I just need to keep reminding myself it's not what I want but what God wants and it's not about my plans but His.

"It is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loves me and gave Himself for me" -Galations 2:20.

Anyway, I can't believe it's already been a year since last year's trip.. It was my first time skiing ever and my first time going to Colorado... it was such a memorable experience. A lot has happened and changed since then. It's incredible to look back this past year and see how God has worked and allowed certain situations to happen to test my faith and draw me closer to Him.

"You only live once but if you live it right, once is enough."

So I've decided to start a blog because I've just began reading a book called "The Way of the Master" by Ray Comfort and so far, it's already inspiring me and helping me strengthen my faith (and I'm just on the 4th chapter). I absolutely believe that this book can and will change my understanding about how to live a life for God. And I want to be able to share and cherish my journey of growth by blogging about it. God has been working so much in my life these past months and the least I could do in return is to share what I am learning through this book, church, experiences, and most importantly other people.

Until next time... :)
